Terms of Service

Last updated: 11 September 2026

The short version. Deck & Diary is an entertainment and self-reflection tool, not a fortune-telling service and not a substitute for professional advice. The waitlist is free and you can leave it at any time. Purchases go through Google Play.

1. Agreement

These terms govern your use of the deckanddiary.com website (the "Site") and, once released, the Deck & Diary mobile application (the "App"). Together, the "Service". By joining the waitlist or using the App, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

The Service is operated by an individual developer based in China ("we", "us"). Contact: zhanghr404@gmail.com.

2. What the Service is — and what it is not

Deck & Diary lets you draw tarot cards, read short interpretations, and keep a private diary of your own reflections. It is provided for entertainment and self-reflection purposes only.

The Service is not:

You are responsible for the decisions you make. Nothing the App shows you should be treated as a statement of fact about your life, your health, or your future.

3. The waitlist

4. Purchases and pricing

Once the App is released, paid features will be sold through Google Play using Google Play's billing system. Your purchase is also subject to Google's terms. Prices shown on the Site before launch are indicative and may change before release; the price displayed in Google Play at the time of purchase is the price that applies.

"Lifetime" means the lifetime of the App as a product — that is, for as long as we continue to operate and support it. We do not intend to discontinue it, and if we ever did, we would give buyers reasonable notice and a way to export their data. If a substantially new, separately branded product is released in the future, it would be a separate purchase and would not be taken away from existing buyers.

5. Your diary and your data

Your diary entries are stored on your device. You own your content. We claim no licence over it and we cannot access it. This also means:

Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

7. Availability and changes

We may update, change, or remove features. We aim to keep the App working on supported Android versions, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Pre-release dates and feature lists on the Site are intentions, not commitments.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that interpretations will be accurate, meaningful, or suitable for your situation — they are not factual claims about your life.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any decision you make in reliance on the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. However, if you are a consumer resident in the EEA, the UK, or another jurisdiction whose consumer law gives you the right to bring proceedings locally, nothing here removes that right.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new date, and if you are on the waitlist or have purchased the App, we will notify you by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
